The new department, under the direction of Larry McDaniel, was formed to accommodate the growing demand for customized communication servers and software.
McDaniel joined UconX as director of special projects after serving as a program manager in the specials group at Simpact Associates, Inc., for 16 years. According to McDaniel, the new department's charter is to complement UconX' off-the-shelf products with a range of services to assist customers in developing specialized communication systems. "The Special Projects group will customize an existing UconX protocol or develop a new one to meet a customer's special requirements -- whatever it takes to help our customers be more successful," McDaniel said.
UconX's current special projects customers include Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL), Hughes Aircraft, E-Systems, and Raytheon Corporation.
